Hoy nacieron 9 nidos de tortuga Golfina en el campamento el Naranjo.

Cuando estaba contando las crías encontré una muerta tortuguita albina.

Today 9 olive ridley nests hatched at el Naranjo turtle camp.

When I was counting the hatchlings I found a dead albino hatchling.

Ayer llegaron los niños con sus familias de una escuela de Tepic, Nayarit para pasar la noche campando en la playa, liberar tortuguitas y aprender sobre las tortugas marinas.

Yesterday children and there families from a school in Tepic, Nayarit arrived at the turtle camp to release turtles, camp and learn about marine turtles.

Los maestros de la escuela organisaron actividades y juegos para las familias en la playa.

The teachers from the school arranged games and activities for the visiting families on the beach.

..... and the volunteers found one olive ridley nest. We now have nests hatching dailey.

Here are some photos of the arrival of olive ridley turtles in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. The photos were taken when some of the ecological group volunteers went to visit the centre for turtle protection "escobilla beach"

Buenas tardes

Estas fotos fueron tomadas por los miembros de Greenpeace hace 2 semanas. Mañana voy a subir fotos de la arribazón de tortuga golfina en Oaxaca (sin falta!).

Here are son photos taken by members of Greenpeace when they visited the turtle camp a few weeks ago. Tomorrow I will put the photos from the arrival of turtles in Oaxaca (promise!)

Estoy en Acapulco con los voluntarios del campamento el Naranjo! estamos regresando de Mazunte Oaxaca donde fuimos a ver la arribazón de tortuga golfina.

El viaje fue muy buen vimos muchas tortugas pero ya tenemos que regresar a nuestra playa.

Vamos a llegar a Guayabitos el jueves o viernes. Cuando llego voy a subir las fotos de la arribazón de las tortugas.

Im in Acapulco with the volunteers from el Naranjo beach! we are on our way back from Mazunte Oaxaca where we went to see the "arribazon" of Olive Ridley turtles (when thousands of turtles arrive to lay on the same night).

The trip went very well as we were on the beach for the arrival of the turtles.

We are now on our way back to Guayabitos and should arrive on thursday of friday.

Tortuguitas Los Ayala

Buenas días

Ayer eclosionaron un nido de tortuguitas Golfina "in situ" en la Playa de Los Ayala.

Buenas noticias porque ya casi no existen tortugas en la playa de los ayala. Eclosionaron entre una lancha, un red de pesca, y una cancha de volly.

Yesterday a nest hatched "in situ" on Los Ayala beach. Great new as there are hardly any turtles left there.

The nest hatched beside a fishing boat, next to a fishing net and infront of the vollyball net!

Ayer en le tarde liberaron 40 tortuguitas en la playa de Guayabitos. No hubo tantas personas que el dia anterior pero fuimos unos 40.

Aqui paso las fotos de la liberacion.

Morning

Yesterday afternoon we released 40 hatchling turtles on Guayabitos beach. Not as many people as on saturday not still there were around 40 people releasing the turtles.
